In this topic we will learn, who, why & when God will judge the sinners of this world.
Past stories of the Bible are the replication & portrayal of forthcoming judgments of God in our lifetime. We will learn and understand the justification & grounds due to which God judged them; because God will judge the whole world for the same reasons - AGAIN.
First: we will scrutinize the story of Noah : when the only survivors were Noah & his family. Why?
5- Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6- And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.
7- So the LORD said, " I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them."
8- But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
13- And God said to Noah, " The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
At that time sins of the whole world were soaring & all refused to listen to Noah's testimony; who was the only righteous man on the face of this earth. God appointed him to witness God's upcoming judgment to every soul living at that time. Alas, no one listened to him; but made him a joke as if he has lost his senses: because of his obedience to God's instruction to build a boat ( Noah Ark) on land, where there was no sign of any ocean, river or lake.
Practically, who got saved? of course only a crazy man & his family.
After forty days of continues rain; whole earth & life within drowned completely.
God let life to continue from the survivors of Noah's Ark. God promised Noah that he will never completely end this earth with water again. Rainbow is the symbol of that promise.
We will read the story of the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah. Please read carefully, because OUR generation will witness the same destruction very soon.
20- And the LORD said, "Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave,
21- I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me; and if not, I will know."
22- Then the men turned away from there and went toward Sodom, but Abraham still stood before the LORD.
23- And Abraham came near and said, "Would You also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
24- Suppose there were fifty righteous within the city; would You also destroy the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous that were in it?
25- Far be it from You to do such a thing as this, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?"
26- So the LORD said, " If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes."
27- Then Abraham answered and said, " Indeed now, I who am but dust and ashes have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord:
28- Suppose there were five less than the fifty righteous; would You destroy all of the city for lack for five?" So He said, " If I find there forty - five, I will not destroy it."
29- And he spoke to Him yet again and said, "Suppose there should be forty found there?"
So He said, " I will not do it for the sake of forty."
30- Then he said, " Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Suppose thirty should be found there?"
So He said, " I will not do it if I find thirty there."
31- And he said, " Indeed now, I have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord: Suppose twenty should be found there?"
So He said, " I will not destroy it for the sake of twenty,"
32- Then he said, " Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak but once more: Suppose ten should be found there?"
And He said, " I will not destroy it for the sake of ten."
33- So the LORD went His way as soon as He had finished speaking with Abraham; and Abraham returned to his place.
In these verses of Genesis 18: 20-33; Abraham is constantly making inquiries from God : if there is any chance to spare this city from God's Wrath for the sake of few righteous. But, there were not even ten righteous found in a whole city.
God spoke with Abraham; because Lord God always reveals His intentions to His servants before executing His judgment.
We will continue to read this story to see what happend when God went to Sodom to find the authenticity of these sins & crimes for which an outcry reached heaven to LORD GOD.
God is the most just, fair, impartial, righteous & honorable JUDGE. His judgments are true as He is true.
God went to Adam & Eve in Garden of Eden - to check on the validity of crime, give a fair chance of forgiveness & finally announcing His judgment.
God did the same again. He heard the outcry of their sins in Heaven. God, being a fair Judge came to visit Sodom & Gomorrah to find out the validity of complains & crimes & sins.
God will do the same again. Jesus will come down to the check the validity & authenticity of sins of our world in our life time : Then His Judgment will fall on all sinners & rescue His righteous bride.
It is very important to understand that the sins of our earth will have to reach the same level & intensity as Sodom & Gomorrah. If you observe honestly; today we are about 80% to that level of sins. Look at the speed we are heading in sins & lust of this world & physical or spiritual filthiness. Within no time we will reach the 100% level of sins of Sodom & Gomorrah.
At that time: God will judge the whole earth in an exact manner as Sodom & Gomorrah.
Let's read together - what happened next.........
1- Now the two angles came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground.
2- And he said, " Here now, my lords, please turn in to your servant's house and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way."
3- But he insisted strongly; so they turned in to him and entered his house. Then he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
4- Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house.
5- And they called to Lot and said to him, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally."
6- So Lot went out to them through the doorway, shut the door behind him,
7- and said, " Please, my brethren, do not do so wickedly!
8- See now, I have two daughters who have not known a man; please, let me bring them out to you, and you may do to them as you wish; only do nothing to these men, since this is the reason they have come under the shadow of my roof."
9- And they said, " Stand back! " Then they said, " This one came in to stay here, and he keeps acting as a judge: now we will deal worse with you than with them. " So they pressed hard against the man Lot, and came near to break down the door.
In verses 4-9, we clearly see the kind of the sinful desires they possessed. From young to old man desired same sex: that would be from age 20 to age 70? You will find the same age group in our society today.
Can you imagine Lot's emotional stress when he had to offer his virgin daughters to save God's angles? A righteous father is offering his virgin daughters to be abused or butchered by these cruel men.
But, they refused virgin women over men.
People of Sodom & Gomorrah reached the unbearable level of sins. They were very cruel, absence of consciousness, bullies, unethical, corrupt & immoral. You will agree with me that man can reach this level of sinful nature only when their heart is hardened due to filth of heart, mind, body & soul.
Let's continue to read, what happened next?
10- But the men reached out their hands and pulled Lot into the house with them, and shut the door.
11- And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they became weary trying to find the door.
Sodom and Gomorrah Destroyed
12- Then the men said to Lot, " Have you anyone else here? Son-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and whomever you have in the city - take them out of this place.
In verse 12, God offers to save the loved ones of the righteous due to His love & mercy. This verse symbolizes, "how God will give an opportunity to all believers through His servants all over the world to sanctify themselves in relationship with God; so that they will get the chance to escape from the day of God's judgment."In our life time.
It is important to understand that at every occurrence of earth's destruction a family of a righteous got saved.
In Noah's days only Noah & his immediate family got saved.
In Sodom & Gomorrah only Lot & his immediate family got saved.
Who will be saved this time?
A family of perfect righteous lamb of God: Yeshua Hamashiach: Messiah Lord Jesus Christ will be saved.
TODAY: G0d is calling His immediate family through His servants all over the world to sanctify themselves in relationship with God so that they will get the opportunity to escape from the wrath of God or God's Judgment which is coming very soon.
13- For we will destroy this place, because the outcry against them has grown great before the face of the LORD, and the LORD has sent us to destroy it."
Verse 13 indicates God's decision to destroy all sinners, because the outcry against them has grown great before the throne of Lord Almighty God.
Currently our whole earth has attained the same enormity of sins. Therefore, God's decision for the whole earth is same today.
14- So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who had married his daughters, and said, "Get up, get out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city!" But to his sons-in-law he seemed to be joking.
In verse 14: Lot portrays the picture of all the servants of Holy Lord God from the day Jesus Christ started His church with declaration:"Repent because Kingdom of God has come".
As Lot warned his son-in-laws about destruction & shared a good news to escape out of this wrath of God: God's servants are blowing trumpets to warn & save the children or family of Messiah- Lord Jesus Christ.
Unfortunately, Lot's son-in-law took this warning as a joke. Alas, they lost this great opportunity of trusting to be saved.
Verse 14 symbolizes the reaction of majority of the people at God's warnings & callings for their rescue through His chosen servants in Last Days. They will laugh over them as if they are crazy or stupid. Their wisdom & hardened heart will be the reason of their END & DESTRUCTION.
Are you taking this message as a foolish joke just like Lot's son-in-laws did?
Just as Noah's witness was foolish joke among all living in his time?
Trust in God is the only way to accept the truth & God's calling to repent & hold on to Lord Almighty God through His only begotton son Lord Jesus Christ to escape from God's Judgment against sinners of this world to get to the Kingdom of God.
15- When the morning dawned, the angels urged Lot to hurry, saying,
"Arise, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city."
16- And while he lingered, the men took hold of his hand, his wife's hand, and the hands of his two daughters, the LORD being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city.
Verse 15 & 16 pictures God's mercy over His believers & righteous children.
Even though Lot lingered - God's angles took hold of Lot & his family's hand & brought him out and set him outside the city of destruction.
We also linger on like Lot. For how much we try our best to be righteous in God: we still linger to our current possesion of this world. It is only God's mercy that can transforms us in God's righteousness through an intimate love relationship in Lord Jesus Christ.
Just as Lot was rescued by angles: CHILDREN OF GOD WILL BE RESCUED BY ANGLES & WILL TAKE HOLD OF OUR HANDS TO BRING US OUT OF THIS EARTH.
THIS WILL BE THE RAPTURE OF ALL BELIEVERS OF AN IMMEDIATE FAMILY OF LORD JESUS CHRIST.
THIS WILL HAPPEN IN OUR LIFE TIME.
ARE YOU READY?
17- So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he said,
" Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed."
18- Then Lot said to them, " Please, no, my lords!
19- Indeed now, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have increased your mercy which you have shown me by saving my life; but I cannot escape to the mountains, lest some evil overtake me and I die.
20- See now, this city is near enough to flee to, and it is a little one; please let me escape there ( is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live."
21- And he said to him, " See, I have favored you concerning this thing also, in that I will not overthrow this city for which you have spoken.
22- Hurry, escape there. For I cannot do anything until you arrive there."
Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.
23- The sun had risen upon the earth when Lot entered Zoar.
God guarantees that He will not destroy sinners & their possessions completely until all elect & righteous children are taken in God's protection.
24- Then the LORD rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the LORD out of the heavens.
25- So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.
Verse 24 & 25 symbolized the exact way our world will be judged very soon in our lifetime. LORD will rain brimstone and fire out of the heavens.
26- But, his wife looked back behind him, and she became a piller of salt.
In verse 26, we read that Lot's wife looked back & turned into a piller of salt.
Changing into a piller of salt symbolizes that:
As a child of God or true believer, the desire of our heart should be to reach our rescued destination; that is Jesus Christ. Keep moving ahead without looking back at sinners of the world. God asked them not to look back - God does not want us to put our heart in this world & it's works. God has seperated His bride out of this world. Yes - we do not belong here- children of heaven belong only to heaven.
Lot's wife could not resist to look back, because she still had her love & heart in her home, her possessions & her loved ones who were left behind ( They were left behind because of their mistrust in God's calling to leave the city & run towards safety in God.)
Are you living your life like Lot who was 100% commited to God: or his wife who is not 100% faithful to God. She is 50% in God & 50% in this world's belongings like her loved ones & home.
Jesus said that you are the salt of this world & if salt looses it's flavor, it will be thrown away.
Lot's wife is a symbol of this piller of useless salt that looses it's flavor.
Dear friends, God will not rescue us if we are like Lot's wife. Divided both in world & God. If we are not 100% faithfully in love with God - we will be judged equally as other sinners of this world.
27- And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the LORD.
28- Then he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain; and he saw, and behold, the smoke of the land which went up like the smoke of the furnace.
On the Day of Judgment of our Earth & its inhabitants will look exactly as if," the smoke of the whole earth will be like the smoke of the furnace."
29- And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot had dwelt.
God desire your love & commitment for your own safety & protection. Now it is your decision to:
* be five wise virgins
* be a portrayal of Noah or Lot
* hot in God's love, respect & honor.
Matthew 5: 13-16 - Believers are Salt & Light
13- "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfood by men.
14- You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
15- Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
16- Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
